PARKING LOT SALE AT PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Joeten Kiyu Library Friends will be sponsoring a Parking Lot Sale on March 5, a Saturday, in Susupe.

The event will be held at the public library as a benefit for the upcoming Children’s Library and will include a flea market-style sale with used books, toys, games, household goods, clothes, food, etc.

A 10’ x 20’ space in one of the tents for the sale can be reserved by individuals or vendors for a $20 rental fee through and including Monday, Feb. 28, at the front desk in the public library. Rental fees will benefit The Library Friends and the children’s library.

Anyone wishing to donate used books, videos, CDs or cassettes for this event may drop them off at the public library’s front desk before March 5.

The sale itself will be held at the parking lot adjacent to Beach Road in front of the public library, from 9am to 2pm of March 5.

The upcoming children’s library will be called “The Children of Our Homeland Social-Cultural-Family Preservation Center” and is made possible largely through a grant obtained by The Library Friends from the U.S. Administration for Native Americans. It will not only be a children’s library but will also use many formats to encourage education about native Chamorro and Carolinian customs, culture, family traditions, literacy, health, public issues, history, language, education, and career/economic advancement and issues.
