Following a successful fourth season, the organizers of the Commonwealth Football League are continuing their push to improve the quality of their sport in the CNMI by hosting their first meeting since the Shell Chiefs won the championship.

According to CFL chairman John S. Blanco, the board members will gather at J’s restaurant along Chalan Pale Arnold in Gualo Rai next Tuesday, March 1, at 6:30pm to discuss a number of topics pertaining to the current state of the league.

Among the decisions that the league will face in the upcoming season is which field to choose as the home of the games, the number of teams, rules changes, as well as heading off issues that might delay the start of the season this fall.

Sources close to the league mentioned the possibility of the resurgence of a gridiron power emanating across the channel in Tinian, as well as the return of a former prominent player turned board member to the field.
