CHUUKESE MEETING TODAY

This is to inform all Chuukese citizens in the CNMI that there will be an important meeting today, Jan. 28, 2005 at Garapan Central Park (roundhouse) from 5:30pm to 10pm. Please come! Your presence and time is urgently solicited.

NOTICE OF ZONING BOARD HEARING

The initial meeting of the Saipan Zoning Board will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at 7pm in the ground floor conference room of the Hon. Juan A. Sablan Memorial Building, Capitol Hill.

The items on the agenda are:
1. Election of board officers;
2. Organizational Planning for the board;
3. Establishment of immediate priorities for board action.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend the meeting.

PALAUAN ASSOCIATION PICNIC TOMORROW

The Palauan Community Association–CNMI is inviting all Palauans on Saipan to a get-together picnic and meeting tomorrow, Jan. 29, 2005, beginning at 4pm at Lally 4 Beach in Chalan Kanoa.

The purpose of the gathering is to welcome the New Year, and to elect officers for the 2005 calendar year. Everyone is urged to attend.

DEADLINE TO FILE TAXES SET

The Division of Revenue and Taxation is reminding all CNMI residents that the 2004 4th quarter deadline for filing the quarterly tax returns is Monday, Jan. 31, 2005. The division will be open from 7:30am until 8:30pm on Monday, Jan. 31, 2005. The division is located at the Joeten Dandan Commercial Center.

SURVEY ENUMERATORS WANTED

The Central Statistics Division of the Department of Commerce will be conducting the 2005 CNMI Household Income and Expenditures Survey starting March 2005 on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

In anticipation of this project, the division will be recruiting individuals interested to work as enumerators.

Commerce Secretary Andrew Salas said the purpose of the survey is to enhance the ability of the CNMI government to use and report consistent, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective demographic, social, economic, housing and expenditures data to interested individuals and/or organizations, potential investors, and other government entities.

Enumerators must be at least 18 years of age, U.S. citizens or residents of the CNMI, be in possession of a valid CNMI drivers license, and have their own transportation.

2004 W-2CM FORMS DISTRIBUTION ONGOING

The Division of Revenue and Taxation wishes to inform all CNMI employers that the distribution of the 2004 W-2CM forms and Instructions is ongoing.

All businesses and employers are asked, to pick up forms during the regular business hours, from 8am to 4pm at the office of the Division of Revenue and Taxation located at the Dandan Commercial Center. The deadline for filing 2004 W-2CM form is Feb. 28, 2005 at 4:30pm.

PUBLIC NOTICE TO FIRST-TIME HOMEOWNERS

The Northern Marianas Housing Corp. said that it is extending the deadline for first-time homeowners to submit housing loan applications for the Plumeria Estates.

NMHC encourages all interested applicants to pick up an application at its central office in Garapan, Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm, except holidays, and to have the applications submitted as soon as they can. For any inquiries on the matter, call one of NMHC’s loan officers at 234-9447/7689/7670.
