Tips needed in homicide

The NMI Crime Stoppers said yesterday that it is seeking tips from the public about Monday’s homicide case that occurred at the S.T.S Corp. commercial space behind the 5K Poker Arcade in Chalan Piao.

The incident has been classified as its Crime of the Week for Jan. 24 to 28.

Crime Stoppers indicated that according to preliminary investigation, employees of Michigan Garment Factory went to check on the female victim at her apartment early Monday to see if she was going to report for work.

They arrived at the front door and were knocking when the door partially opened. They saw the victim, an Asian female, lying motionless on the floor.

The employees then called the Department of Public Safety and reported a dead person. The call was placed at about 9:06am.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim on the floor covered with blankets. The officers secured the scene before detectives and Criminal Scene Investigation personnel processed the scene.

Investigation conducted by the detectives and CSI personnel revealed evidence and signs of a struggle. Defensive wounds were present on the victim’s body, indicating foul play.
