Never banzai, never surrender, never retreat

I strongly believe this analogy: We are all as responsible as the person next door is, as vice president Hiroyuki Saito of Saipan Laulau Development, Inc. indicated in his recent statements to the Marianas Variety on Jan. 6, 2005. After all, this is American soil, home of the American dream. We have to make it happen. We should all work together and not just count on the effort of one single person. We must face the challenge. Other countries are motivated—they were also affected by the tsunami but they did not run away. They are standing firm; their country is also affected and they realize there is no way out. We can all spring back and crack the nutshell. Obviously, we noticed the effect of the tsunami in Asia and the void it created in the tourism economy—not to mention in other manufacturing ventures that were strong. It is truly inspiring indeed to listen to people who have risen successfully such as Saipan Laulau Development Inc. They also are looking at the brighter side of the perspective; rather than having the attitude of just “skimming the top of the cream”. Many have committed strongly through substantial investments when the CNMI had very little to offer in terms of infrastructure and other developments.

Let us get on the bandwagon with our business community and our political leaders and do something about it now—we do not have to wait—the momentum has already begun. Never banzai…never surrender…never retreat!
