Man in jail for allegedly beating up, biting wife
A 38-year-old man landed in jail for allegedly beating up his wife in front of her children, punching her several times on the face, kicking her and biting her breast.
Police filed charges of assault and battery and disturbing the peace against the man, whose identity is being withheld. Superior Court judge David Wiseman imposed a $5,000-bail for his temporary release.
Police detective Christopher Leon Guerrero said the woman sustained bruises on her forehead.
The incident happened at the old Emergency Management Office site, where the man parked his vehicle to sleep, as he was drunk on the night of Dec. 17, according to the detective.
Leon Guerrero said the man telephoned his wife to fetch him, but when she arrived, the defendant refused to go home. Police said the man insisted on getting his car key, but the victim claimed she placed it inside her car.
As the woman walked back to her car, the man chased her and punched her several times, mostly on the face, police said.
“At one point, he bit her breast and kicked her,” the detective said.
Police said the incident was witnessed by her four children aged 10, 7, and 3. (John Ravelo)
