The Division of Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco Control of the Department of Commerce will be conducting a manager/bartender workshop with the theme of “Serving Alcohol Responsibly.” The workshop will take place on Dec. 21 and 22, from 9am to 4pm, at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.

The workshop aims to educate the participants on how alcohol affects the body, why responsible beverage alcohol service is important, rights and responsibilities of the server, handling difficult situations, alcohol-related verbal abuse and violence, traffic laws, and to re-familiarize with the alcoholic beverage control laws and regulations.

“As we enter the holiday season, and in observance of the Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month, the ABTC Division, the Department of Public Safety, the 2004 3D Committee and the Northern Marianas Bartender Association are encouraging the managers and bartenders for all…establishments engaged in serving alcoholic beverages…to attend this workshop,” the division said in a statement.
