Japanese sweep Tinian Dynasty blackjack
Shimada Yasushi from Japan won the prestigious $60,000 Blackjack Championship 2004, held last Dec. 5 at Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino. He was presented with a check for $60,000 and a dazzling championship trophy.
First runner-up, Tamura Norikuni, also from Japan, received his prize of $30,000, while second runner-up. Kawaguchi Tsuguo took home $11,000. Tsuguo also hails from Japan. The other finalists in $60,000 Blackjack Championship 2004 were Kumagai Jun, Kaijima Sumire, Choi Tae Young, and Yoo Song Geun. All four received $1,000 each in consolation prize money.
The two-day event attracted over 100 participants from Japan, China, and Korea with a few prospective participants from Korea unable to attend due to full air services.
