Man wanted for alleged domestic abuse
Authorities are now on the look out for a 21-year-old man allegedly involved in a domestic incident.
According to Department of Public Safety public information officer PO2 Eric F. David, the Criminal Investigation Bureau is asking for the community’s help in locating the suspect, Daniel Howell Dela Cruz.
An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect, signed by Superior Court Judge Juan S. Lizama on Nov. 29. Authorities are also to confiscate all travel documents to prevent Dela Cruz from leaving the island. Dela Cruz is also restricted from making any form of contact with the victim, whose name was withheld due to the incident being a domestic case.
Dela Cruz is described as 5’8” tall, with brown eyes and brown hair.
Police report indicated that Dela Cruz allegedly assaulted his girlfriend after a heated argument when he tried to take their baby from Room 3 of the Agbanlog barracks in San Vicente. The victim said no, resulting in the argument getting worse.
Dela Cruz reportedly grabbed the baby from the victim’s arms and proceeded to walk out when the victim tried to stop him.
Dela Cruz allegedly pushed the victim on her right shoulder. The victim claims that she was pushed hard, putting her off balance and making her stumble toward the wall.
“According to [victim], the [suspect] followed her to the wall and tried to punch her.”
The victim reportedly slapped the victim, causing him to get mad and push her against the wall.
The suspect allegedly pushed her a third time and reportedly punched her on the back of her neck twice before walking out with the baby.
A responding officer, who reached the scene at about 10:54pm, found the victim at the entrance of the compound and noticed she was crying and her eyes were bloodshot.
The victim reportedly told the officer that her boyfriend beat her up and took their child, leaving in a taxi. She, however, was not able to identify the color or license plate of the vehicle.
The victim told the officer that it was second time she was beaten by Dela Cruz. She said the suspect was carrying their baby in his arms during the incident.
The report further indicated that the officer observed the victim’s neck and did not see any sign of bruises or bumps.
Bail for the suspect is set at $1,250.
