Beauty expert Juanny Torres feels very blessed these days.
Torres, who owns the Juanny’s Hair Salon in As Lito, said she is very thankful that, despite the many economic challenges that have happened to the CNMI, her business is still up and running and will be celebrating its 10th anniversary beginning tomorrow.
“I just feel very blessed that Juanny’s is 10 years running. We were able to serve the customers for their needs,” Torres said.
Most of the salon’s staff have been with the company for several years, allowing them to hone their skills further. Torres is also hands on and provides services to customers herself.
Despite their busy schedules, Juanny’s staff still manages to adapt to the fast-changing trends in the industry, with Torres attending seminars and trade shows. Torres also said the companies behind the beauty products that Juanny’s distribute locally also update them on the latest fads in hairstyling and beauty care.
“This kind of industry changes every year,” Torres said. She said among her plans for Juanny’s is the upgrade of its facility.
Juanny’s has been a full-scale salon offering an array of services such as haircut, hair highlights, makeup, manicure, pedicure, ear piercing, body massage, and body waxing and threading. Torres said, however, that she always looks for ways to expand the salon’s services further.
If opportunity permits, she said she would consider putting up another Juanny’s outlet on Saipan. Torres is also the owner of the Creations Hair Salon at the Hyatt Regency on Guam, which has been operating for three years now.
For Juanny’s anniversary, the salon would offer products and services at discounted rates from 15- to 20-percent. Customers who avail of services on the anniversary day, Dec. 11, will get free giveaways such as T-shirts and other gift items while supplies last.
The anniversary celebration will last a month, according to Torres, who said customers who avail of services before the raffle date on Jan. 15, 2005 will get raffle coupons. Raffle prizes include $100- and $50-gift certificates and other free services from Juanny’s.
