DCCA LAUNCHES CHRISTMAS HOOP TORUNEY
The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs announced they will host the 2004 Christmas Basketball Tournament from Monday, Dec. 27 through Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
The basketball tournament is open to 14-and-under basketball teams. The DCCA said the Top 3 finishers of the eight-team tournament will get trophies and possibly cash prizes.
Coaches and managers are requested to submit their rosters and entry fees as soon as possible.
Teams will be limited to a maximum of 15 players, and the deadline to enter the tournament is Friday, Dec. 17.
The cost to register a team for the first ever event is $50, and the first eight teams to pay are guaranteed slots to the tourney. All others will be left to participate by cheering on the action from the stands.
All interested coaches and managers must attend a tournament meeting on Thursday, Dec. 9 in the conference room of the Ada Gym at 11am.

MOBIL CAGING SETS JAN. 11 START
The 2005 Mobil Oil Marianas Invitational Co-ed Basketball League will kick off tentatively on Jan. 11, 5pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
The Mobil co-ed basketball league is comprised of 2004 champion Aqua Resort Club, Pacific Development, Inc., Microl-Toyota, Tan Holdings Corp., Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Commonwealth Utilities Corp, Pacific Island Aviation, Commonwealth Ports Authority, and host Mobil Oil Marianas.
