Countdown to $1K Open 9-Ball Tournament starts
Top Pool Bar’s $1,000 Open 9-Ball Tournament will kick off two weeks from now on the weekend of Dec. 18 and 19 from 7pm to 2am.
Manager Zheng Jian Qing is putting up one of the biggest cash prizes for a billiard tournament this side of the Marianas chain in the two-day pool extravaganza.
Zheng said the competition would only be open to the first 32 players that sign up. The 9-ball event will be a single-elimination, race-to-seven wins series.
The first night of the tournament will be played to determine the quarterfinalists. The Top 8, meanwhile, will duke it out on the second day of competition.
The first three placers then get to divide the $1,000 pot. The second runner-up gets to line his pockets with $200, the runner-up goes home with $300, while the champion bags the $500 grand prize.
Entry fee for the $1,000 billiard event is $30 per person and pairings will be done through a draw, which date will be announced days before the tournament.
Top Pool Bar is one of the newest and more spacious billiard venues in town. It boasts of seven 9-1/2-by-5-foot tables usually found in professional tournaments abroad.
