Guerrero claims SGA October ace

Joe “Tofila” Guerrero rose to the occasion and captured the throne as Saipan Golf Association’s Ace of the Month winner last Sept. 19 at Kingfisher Golf Links.
Guerrero secured the title with the superb net score of three-under par 69. Ben Aldan actually finished with the day’s lowest net; however since Aldan already won last July, Guerrero automatically took home plum for September.
Just the same Aldan bagged the first place prize money, while Guerrero settled for the runner-up prize money but got the ace title as consolation. John Matsumoto secured third place with a one-over par 73.
Tutoree “Young Gun” Ton Benavente and Rick Kautz won closest to pin and the longest drive, respectively. August ace Ray San Nicolas and Aldan claimed the remaining two closest to the pin contests.
The SGA would like to inform members that the October Ace is set for this Sunday, Nov. 7, at the Laolao Golf Resort west course. Tee time is set at 7:15am. But participants are advised to check in 30 minutes prior to the tournament for parings. (Mark Rabago)
