Suspect wanted for theft of over $1K
Police are currently investigating a burglary and theft case that resulted in the victim losing about $1,580 in several items, according to the NMI Crime Stoppers, which considers the case as its Crime of the Week.
NMI Crime Stoppers coordinator PO2 Eric F. David said yesterday that preliminary investigation by the responding officer indicated that the incident occurred between 11:30pm Oct. 29 and 9:30am Oct. 30.
David said the suspect(s) had broken the rear window of the victim’s vehicle parked at the XNE apartment unit just northwest of Saint Jude Church in Koblerville.
Reported stolen were a Toshiba laptop computer worth $1,200, a calculator valued at $250, an English book from the Northern Marianas College worth $50, and a DFS handbag worth $80.
The victim, identified only as Ms. Young, reported the incident to the Department of Public Safety on Oct. 30.
“Anyone with information about this or other crimes, call the Crime Stoppers Tips Line at 234-7272,” David said. “We want your information, not your name.”
Crime Stoppers pays rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Caller ID is not used and all calls remain anonymous.
