Verizon offers new ringtone features

Do you have a new cell phone and would like to download the latest ring tones to your cell phone? There is a new and easy way of downloading this option to your Verizon cellular phone.

The new lines of LG cellular phones that are offered at Verizon have the ability to download MIDI ringtone formats. Therefore, if you have an LG 6000 or an LG 5450, you can follow these instructions on how to download songs to your phone.

In order for you to start the process, you must have access to a computer and to your favorite E-mail client such Outlook Express. You must also have an E-mail address so you can attach your favorite MIDI file and send it to your MMS enabled cell phone. If you haven’t already stored any songs, sample ringtones can then be downloaded at www.vzpacifica.net/pub/midi/mozart.mid. Be sure to choose your desired selection and then save it to your documents. Next, you must send the attached file to your cell phone by typing the area code, followed by your phone number, and then complete the address by typing in @pix.vztxt.com. All spaces must be deleted. For instance, if your phone number is 287-0000, you must type in 6702870000@pix.vxtxt.com.

Before sending your file, it is recommended that you include a subject to the E-mail so that you can easily identify the song when you receive it. Thus, please make a note that the MIDI file should be less than 30KB of file size due to the limitations of the cell phone.

After you receive the MIDI information, choose “options” and then select “save sound.” Finally, go to the “my media” option and click on your selection to set your desired ringtone. Your ringtone should now be played whenever you receive a phone call.

For those of you who would like to record your own voice as a ringtone, there is another process of doing this. First, click on the camera icon and then go to the “send picture” option. Type in your telephone number, including your area code, and then hit the “OK” button. Scroll down and choose the “sound” option and then choose “record.” You can now begin recording your voice. Once you have completed your message, click on the “done” button. When you send and receive the message, choose “save sound” and then the new ringtone should be available for your selection.
