KIDS TRYATHLON TOMORROW
The 2004 Kids Tryathlon series will push through tomorrow, Oct. 23, at the northern part of the island in Marpi.
The triathlon for children will begin with the swim portion at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool, the bike and run portions of the race will be held further north towards the Last Command Post.
Participants 6-9 years old will have to swim 100 meters, ride their bikes for two kilometers and run for a kilometer. Participants ages 10-14 years old would then have to swim for 200 meters, ride the bike for four kilometers and then run a two-kilometer route.
Registration will start at 6:30am with the start of the race at 7am.
Organizers are reminding participants and parents that bike helmets are mandatory. Entry cost is $5 per participant and $10 per team.
MATTA CONFIRMS DATE OF GOODWILL TOURNEY
The Marianas Amateur Table Tennis Association will hold the 2004 Marianas Friendship Table Tennis Tournament on Oct. 30 and 31 from 9am to 3pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Representing Tinian is a team from the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, while Guam will be sending players from the Guam Table Tennis Association. Players from host MATTA will be representing Saipan in the three-island ping-pong competition.
MATTA president Steven Lim said a round-robin format would be used for the two-day event.
$1K TOP POOL BAR TOURNEY THIS DECEMBER
The Top Pool Bar $1,000 Open 9-Ball Tournament will be held on the weekend of Dec. 18 and 19 from 7pm to 2am.
The contest will have a 32-man field and will be a single elimination, race to seven wins series. Only eight players will remain after the first day with the final players contesting the Top 3 money places the following day.
Entry fee for the billiard event is $30 per person and pairings will be done through a draw, which date will be announced at a later time.

PACRIM TOURNEY BACK AGAIN
The Pacific Rim Youth Goodwill Tournament will be returning for its third installment later this year, as basketball and volleyball players from around the region will once again be competing at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium in Oleai.
Participants from the CNMI, Japan, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, Hawaii, the Philippines, and the Republic of Belau are invited to take part in all of the scheduled festivities.
The tournament is scheduled to begin Saturday, November 20, continuing through the next Saturday, November 27.
All teams are encouraged to register early in either Division I (12-14 years old), or Division II (15-18 years old). Registration fee is $100 per team.

MOBIL CAGING SETS JAN. 11 START
The 2005 Mobil Oil Marianas Invitational Co-ed Basketball League will kick off tentatively on Jan. 11, 5pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
The Mobil co-ed basketball league is comprised of 2004 champion Aqua Resort Club, Pacific Development, Inc., Microl-Toyota, Tan Holdings Corp., Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Commonwealth Utilities Corp, Pacific Island Aviation, Commonwealth Ports Authority, and host Mobil Oil Marianas.
