PHI pharmacy opens new Dandan branch
Pacific Health Inc. makes pharmaceutical products more accessible to the local population by establishing another outlet at the Joeten Commercial Center in Dandan, bigger than the one that has been servicing patients at the Commonwealth Health Center.
At the new outlet, there are more stocks of over-the-counter and prescription drugs that patients and clients may avail of without going through the hassle of a long wait.
PHI owner Bruce Cohen also said there are more parking spaces at the Dandan outlet than the usually crowded spaces at the CNMI’s only hospital. He said the new outlet is also equipped with a room where a patient could meet with a clinical pharmacist
The new outlet is now open but it will be making its official grand opening celebration sometime next month.
Cohen said PHI is a new member of the Good Neighbor Pharmacy, a national network of independent pharmacies nationwide. PHI is now one of the 31 network members in Hawaii, Guam and the CNMI.
Cohen explained that being a member of the network provides PHI greater buying power, affording it to pass on to its consumers the savings it derives. During the official grand opening next month, the outlet would offer certain products at discounted prices through the “good neighbor sale” promotional activity.
Soon, the outlet would also carry Good Neighbor products that are comparatively cheaper than similar products of other brands, Cohen said.
“PHI works with insurance companies to provide the most cost-effective drug therapy,” Cohen said. “Prescription drugs and medication are priced the same by the pharmacy benefits manager in the CNMI and in the United States.”
He also advised patients to use generic drugs to minimize expenses in buying needed medication.
Meanwhile, Cohen said PHI has upgraded its computer system, allowing it to provide helpful information on drug’s indications and side effects. Both the CHC and Dandan outlets keep records of patients’ medication history.
