The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture announced yesterday that it would hold its annual Island Arts and Christmas Crafts Exhibit on Nov. 12 at the CNMI Gallery for Arts and Culture, and is soliciting submissions for this year’s poster design.

According to Sinfo Pinaula of CCAC, all interested artists are welcome to take part in the poster contest, and have until 4:30pm on Nov. 9 to submit their full-color designs.

Upon selection of the winning poster design, the Council will award the winning artist $300.

“The artwork will only be used for printed, informational, and promotional materials for the Island Arts and Christmas Crafts Exhibit,” Pinaula said.

Pinaula said the exhibit is also open to artists who want to put up their artwork on display as well as for sale.

“This exhibit will combine island artists paintings, photographs, and other media along with Christmas crafts,” she said. “We have a lot of visual artists, and we hold this so they can also sell their work.”
