Northern Marianas College students interested in getting involved in the business field are being invited to join the college’s Business Club.

The club will hold its first official meeting on Friday, Oct. 15, at 12pm in room V215.

According to acting president Francis Mangsat, the club was formed with a small number of members involved.

“Last year we had about four people [in the club], but the club was not really active,” he said. “This year we want to have more people.”

NMC instructors Perry Connor and Rik Villegas will be on hand to advise the club through their planned events and activities.

“You come and you make this what you want it to be, and we’ll be there to guide you through it,” Connor told the students.

The meeting will discuss the club’s constitution and other factors that concern business involvement in the CNMI.

“We will have a special guest to share some [valuable] information about business,” Connor added.

The members will also open nomination for club officers. “The advantage of attending the meeting, is that you have a chance of being nominated for officer [position],” said Connor.

The club is open for enrollment and holds no deadline for membership. Members are required to pay a $5 application fee. Interested students can contact Francis Mangsat at 235-7152 or Rik Villegas at 234-5498 Ext. 1826.
