Microl Toyota will be introducing the Toyota Prius—the first ever hybrid vehicle available to the public in the CNMI—tomorrow, Oct. 9.

The Toyota Prius is the perfect marriage between the gasoline and electric engines, enabling consumers to take advantage of excellent gas mileage. With its Hybrid Synergy Drive system, motorists get well over 500 miles on a full tank of gas.

“This is an exciting moment for our community,” said Doug Brennan, vice president and general manager of Microl. “The Toyota Prius is in high demand in places like California where customers are on a six-month waiting list just to get one. We’re very fortunate that we can offer our customers this vehicle that promises such great gas mileage…especially because of the fact that you get better gas mileage in “city driving” (like we do) than on the freeway. And you never have to plug it in.”

The Toyota Prius has racked up an impressive list of awards including Motor Trend’s 2004 Car of the Year and the Overall Engine of the Year at the 2004 Engine of the Year Awards.

Microl was established in 1967 and today is the leading automotive dealership in the CNMI carrying quality brands that include Toyota and AC Delco.
