The Marianas Visitors Authority board of directors recently recognized Charles Mendiola from the Division of Quarantine as the 4th quarter recipient of the Hafa Adai Hospitality Award.

Mendiola was selected among three candidates who were nominated by the supervisors from the CNMI Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Division.

Mendiola was recognized especially for the extra courtesy he extends to visitors and the professionalism he maintains while enforcing the Federal and CNMI Quarantine rules and regulations.

In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Mendiola also received a check from the MVA, and gift certificates from Pacific Islands Club Saipan, DFS Galleria and Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach.

The Hafa Adai Hospitality Award program was created to recognize individuals from the Divisions of Customs, Immigration and Quarantine who go the extra mile to welcome visitors to the CNMI in a hospitable and professional manner. The award emphasizes the importance of visitors and the efforts to encourage a good “first impression” of the CNMI.

Capt. Vince Lizama from the Division of Immigration was the 2nd quarter recipient, while Heather Castro from the Division of Customs was the 3rd quarter recipient.
