The NMI Museum of History and Culture has new faces on its board of governors.

The board selected its new officers during a board meeting Tuesday night last week.

Taking the role of board chair is Carmen Gaskins, while Michael Fleming holds vice chair position and Scott Russell fills in as secretary.

Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture executive director Robert Hunter, Herbert S. del Rosario of the Northern Marianas College Archives Office, Matias Taisacan of the Historic Preservation Office in Rota, and Carmen Sanchez of the Tinian HPO are also members of the board.

According to NMI Museum executive director Maggie S. Sablan, Gaskins, Fleming, and Russell are business and community representatives, while Hunter, del Rosario, Taisacan, and Sanchez represent agencies required by law to be represented on the board.

The member will serve for a term of four years.

Prior to Gaskins, del Rosario served as acting chair from June 2004 to September. Before him was Herman Guerrero, who served as chair from 1998 to May 30, 2004. (Shan Seman)
