8th annual Rota Fiesta Marathon set

The Marianas Visitors Authority announced Friday the 8th Annual Rota Fiesta Marathon, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 9, on Rota.
The annual marathon will be one of the several activities held during the Rota Fiesta.
The event, which is scheduled to start at 5:30am at the Rota Round House, will cover a distance of 13.1 miles and will consist of 75 percent coral packed dirt and 25 percent paved road. The event briefing will be conducted prior to the start of the event on Saturday.
“The Annual Rota Fiesta Marathon is held annually during the Rota fiesta weekend to provide running enthusiast as well as visitors something to add on to their list of things to do while on island” said Martin F. Duenas, acting managing director.
In addition, all participants will receive a t-shirt plus prizes will be given to top finishers. Registration fee is $10. Application forms with fact sheets are available at the MVA office in Saipan and Rota.
