The Northern Marianas Beauty Pageant Association recently sent off reigning Miss CNMI International Kenyelyn Arriola to represent the CNMI in the 2004 Miss International pageant being held in Beijing, China.
NMBPA’s public information officer Carmen Sablan escorted Arriola to Japan, where Arriola will be staying for a week.
“She’ll be leaving for China on the ninth of October, and she’ll be there until Oct. 17th,” said NMBPA secretary Jennifer White-Aguon.
The Miss International pageant will take place on Oct. 16 at the People’s Hall in Beijing, China. Arriola will be among the 50-60 delegates competing for the title of 2004 Miss International.
“This is the first time the Miss International Organization will hold the pageant in China,” said White-Aguon.
According to Sablan, Arriola has been preparing for the competition with assistance from pageant director and special consultant Ernie Molina.
“Ernie has been training her in pageant etiquette”, said White-Aguon. “From Genoveva’s Hair Power, Renren [Santos] and Agot [Santos] trained her on hair and makeup,” she added.
“We trained in one workshop on how to put on the proper makeup during the pageant and for day time. We trained her for about five days and she’s prepared now,” said Agot Santos.
Meanwhile, NMBPA also disclosed that Miss Northern Marianas-South Pacific Louiena Pangelinan would be traveling to American Samoa on Oct. 24.
Miss Northern Marianas-World Tracy Del Rosario, on the other hand, would travel to the Miss World beauty pageant in Sanya, China in early November. She will be staying there until the early part of December.
