With all of the track and field events for the month of September all finished up, the Northern Marianas Islands Track and Field Federation has focused its attention toward the upcoming dates in October, and made a couple of changes.

According to NMITFF board member Elias Rangamar, the schedule makers have reviewed the calendar of upcoming events and decided to swap the dates for the Tinian Cross Country race and the Oceania Open and 18-and-under time trials.

“Everything will be the same for the meets as it was before. We just decided that it would work out better if we switched out the dates,” said Rangamar.

Runners participating in the open cross-country meet in Tinian have an extra week to train up, as they will now gather at the Tinian Elementary School on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 3pm. Entrants in the Oceania Open find themselves on the other side of the coin, as they will now have to be prepared a week earlier. The event at the Oleai Sports Complex in Saipan has been moved up to Saturday, Oct. 16, at 3pm.
