Corporate Challenge rescheduled for two weeks
Due to the less than ideal weather conditions provided to Saipan from Typhoon Chaba, the 3rd Annual Saipan Chamber of Commerce Corporate Challenge has been rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 3, at 10am.
Because of the delay, there is still time for businesses and government agencies to sign up, and some organizations have already taken advantage and joined in the annual event.
Beginning at 9am, teams gathering to participate in the Corporate Challenge at the American Memorial Park and Micro Beach will prepare for the approximately six-hour competition. Composed of members of a business, agency or organization, teams will compete in a number of events to determine the overall winner.
This list of events includes the ever-popular obstacle course, egg toss, a Best Tent contest, and fear-factor eating contest, among others. Co-workers and family members are free to join the cheering squad of each team. An assortment of prizes await the teams that have the best times in each game, and a special prize will be given to the team that has the best-decorated tent, following the day’s theme of “Patriotism.”
Though the team that accumulates the most points in the challenge is awarded the annual trophy, the real winners of the event are the students who are granted scholarships by the SCC.
Proceeds go to the SSC Educational Scholarship fund, which supports local students who want to further their education at an accredited two-year or four-year institution.
It is recommended that teams arrive as early as 9am to prepare for the daylong event. The public is encouraged to come down to the park for all of the fun and games.
The cost to enter a team is $275, and all businesses and government agencies are invited to sign up by calling 233-7150 for an application packet.
