The Japan Travel Bureau, which books most of outbound Japanese vacation travel, has rolled out two trial travel discount campaigns to stimulate overseas travel in September and October, according to a report quoted by the Pacific Business News.

According to it, the Travel Journal International reports that JTB has launched the “Ladies Discount,” available only this month, which offers a 5,000-yen discount to females traveling in groups of two or more. This discount is offered on tour packages to Guam and Saipan.

The “Birthday Discount” campaign, slated for this month and next, applies to travelers age 20 or older, with birthdays falling within the month of departure, and may include up to three other traveling companions. The program offers a 5,000-yen ($45) discount per person for trips to Hawaii and Bali.

Pacific Business News said JTB had indicated that it may extend the campaigns, depending on the results of the programs.
