The Division of Environmental Quality’s Cleanup Brigade will be at it again, picking up trash at the Lally 4 Beach south to Hopwood Jr. High School.

Individuals who would like to volunteer their time to clean up and beautify the island are encouraged to meet the DEQ representative in the bright green t-shirt on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 8am at the Lally 4 Beach Pavilion.

The brigade cleans until 10am and breaks for drinks, then continues if needed.

This month, outstanding brigade members who participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who participated at least three times will receive a bright green brigade shirt, DEQ said.

“This is a cleanup that shouldn’t be missed. So join DEQ’s Cleanup Brigade and ‘Pick It Up!’” said the agency in a statement.

For more information about how one can become a member, contact DEQ at 664-8500.
