Belau League to repair Dan Dan field today
With about three-quarters of the season and a supertyphoon behind them, the men and women of the Belau Softball Association are just a few days away from returning to the Dan Dan Softball Field for the sport, the fun, and the barbeque.
President of the BSA Newman Techur cancelled this past weekend’s softball games in the Men’s and Women’s divisions due to the damage sustained to the facility in Dan Dan during the storm, and this morning he will be working to get them started up again.
“We need to regroup, rebuild the scorer’s box, and make some repairs to the infield before we will be ready to go for next weekend,” said Techur.
Techur said that he has enlisted the effort of some of the league’s players and volunteers from the community to aid in the effort to return the field to its condition prior to the destructive storm.
Though some have notified him that they will donate their time, Techur said that anyone who would like to help them repair the damage to the Dan Dan softball field is badly needed and they will be more than welcome to pitch in.
On Tuesday morning, Aug. 31, the BSA will begin the restoration of Dan Dan field at 9am, and anyone who is interested in more information about the BSA or in lending a hand can call Techur by calling 234-0173 or 288-2065.
