BASEBALL GAME WITH USS VINCENNES TODAY

Attention all baseball players, Saipan needs you to volunteer your cleats, bats, and gloves for service in a battle against the service.

Saipan will be fielding a baseball team to participate in a pair of games against the USS Vincennes at the Francisco M. Palacios baseball field today, August 20 and tomorrow, August 21, representatives from Saipan and the U.S. Navy will get together to enjoy a couple of rounds of hardball on the diamond of diamonds in the Northern Marianas.

The manager of the Saipan Major League champion Brewers, Tony Rogolifoi will be putting together a team made up of players who express their interest in sinking the Navy in the goodwill games, so players should act fast.

First pitch will be thrown at 6:30pm, and with all of the talented players on island, it should definitely be an enjoyable time for anyone who enjoys baseball and barbeque.

SAIWAI SUNSET WALK TOMORROW

The Saipan Walking Association announced that it would hold its 10K Anniversary Sunset Walk tomorrow, August 21.

The walk is set to begin at 4:30pm at the Chamolinian Cultural Village in Garapan.

SIS 5K FUN RUN/WALK TOMORROW

The Saipan International School will hold its 5K Fun Run/Walk tomorrow morning at Banzai Cliff.

Nine divisions have been set up for various age groups, including six-and-under, ages 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50-and-up. A shorter course has been designed for participants in the six-and-under category.

Participants aiming to conquer the course would begin huffing and puffing at the Banzai Cliff, and will make their way down towards the Cowtown-Marpi Landfill area.

T-shirts will also be presented to the first 120 finishers.

On site registration begins at 6am, however, participants may register early at SIS. A fee of $10 is required for each participant prior to the start of the event. Also, all participants are eligible for raffle prizes. The drawing would be held shortly after the run/walk.
