On Adriano’s diatribes
One of the most important qualities of leadership is the ability to listen to the people you represent. It means the ability to encourage discussion, especially on points of disagreements, in hopes of reaching clarity of understanding of particulars on any kind and all issues affecting the local populace.
Apparently, Senate President Joaquin Adriano did nothing but display political arrogance, immaturity and shallowness over reason. Why would he scrap a proposal that calls for specific studies? It’s obvious he’s not willing to give reason a chance based on a set of facts. He misses the fact that the issue warrants expert review, not alleged expertise from the upper chamber.
We hail from up north and we also have taken stock of the downside of development. We are not prepared to blindly embrace promises of a better future without dissecting the issue thoroughly. I doubt that Adriano has ever employed such a vital learning curve. Surprising that he represents us in the upper chamber!
The cost of neglect from the likes of Mr. Adriano is humongous. Please, Mr. Adriano, don’t gamble with our future. It is not in our hearts to give away a precious resource that can never be rebuilt after it is destroyed by half-cocked legislators and investors. Is this too difficult to comprehend?
