After a little layoff, action in the 2004 Inter-Restaurant Basketball League resumes tonight as the single-elimination playoff round kicks off.

Seeing action tonight are Keeraku and powerhouse Country House at 11pm.

Country House enters the elimination round as the third seed despite equaling top seeds Capricciosa and Angel Wings’ 5-1 win-loss cards, while Keeraku seeks to turn their season around after finishing with a 1-5 record.

Tomorrow’s action pits Jollibee and El Segundo while Angel Wings and LSG Sky Chefs close the round with a battle Friday night.

Jollibee finished the regular season with a fourth-best 3-3 card while El Segundo followed with a 2-4 record. Sky Chefs finished with a 0-6 card.

Winners of this week’s battles will earn the right to join pennant champion Capricciosa in the semifinals.

According to league official Jake Villanueva, the winner of the Keeraku-Country House bout will battle the winner of the Angel Wings-Sky Chefs match.

Capricciosa awaits the winner of the Jollibee-El Segundo bout.

Further, Villanueva said the league’s semifinals unfolds next week and the best-of-three championship series the week after.
