NMC offers sciences, math and technology subjects

Aside from the many course offerings available at the Northern Marianas College, college students can also enroll in science, math and technology classes—courses that fit most programs general education prerequisites. NMC also offers its own certificate and degree programs in these natural sciences.
Since NMC is a land-grant institution, it also offers a degree program in the environmental sciences incorporating both the physical and natural sciences discipline under the Natural Resources Management program.
The NRM program offers the student an Associate of Science degree in the study of agriculture, environment, and natural resource sciences with a focus on the sustainable utilization and conservation of our land, water, and air. The Associate in Science degree is designed to prepare students for entry into the workforce, or for transfer to a baccalaureate degree program at a four-year college or university.
NMC’s college level math courses are designed to address a wide range of abilities found in student population. Course offerings include college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, business math, statistics, finite mathematics, and calculus.
NMC also has a technical trades/vocations education program that is offered under the sciences, mathematics and technology department. This program is committed to serving not only those students who enroll in regular academic programs, but also non-traditional students enrolling in non-academic credit courses and classes. The mission of the unit is to provide educational opportunities and support services to the entire CNMI community through various programs.
The Technical Trades/Vocational Education courses offered at the Saipan, Tinian and Rota campuses offer students the option of pursuing an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree, a Certificate of Completion, or a Certificate of Achievement in various areas of Construction Trades, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Electronics/Computer Technology, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Special Projects, Blue Printing/Drafting, Building Codes, and Auto Services.
