Baseball camp comes to Saipan
Eco Camp celebrates the last week of summer by bringing America’s pastime closer to children with a very special segment called All Star Baseball.
“We are bringing in Bill Bennett from Asia Pacific Baseball Schools, to conduct an intense six days of baseball focused training, the best thing is that the baseball activities will be combined with our other camp facilities to make it an unbelievable opportunity right here on Saipan”, said camp director Keirsten Hess.
Bennett has worked numerous camps in the Asia Pacific region as well as camps in the US mainland in conjunction with Major League Baseball.
Campers will learn proper swinging technique, pitching skills, fielding skills, and more on the Mariana Resort Baseball Field. Campers will also learn important cross training skills in the pool and on the golf course.
“The focus will be on baseball, but we’ll have just enough of other activities to give the kids a real well rounded week”, said Paul Baron, who is helping organize the camp.
All Star Baseball is open to kids nine to 14 years old. The morning session will run from 9am to 11:30am and then lunch at the resort, campers will then head to the swimming pool, and then it’s on to the Video Room where they will take a look at proper technique. The afternoon session will start at 3pm and run to 6pm.
All Star Baseball at Eco Camp runs from Aug. 2 through Aug. 7, from 9am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, and 8am to 12pm on Saturday.
