Men arrested after eat and run attempt
Three men were taken into custody early yesterday morning after refusing to pay for services at a restaurant in Chalan Kanoa, the Department of Public Safety reported.
Police report indicated that the three men, whose names were not disclosed, entered the Chang Won Restaurant at about 1am, proceeded to order food and drinks, ate, then attempted to leave the establishment without paying for their meal, which amounted to $41.
During an interview, Yongki Seo, an employee of the restaurant, told the responding officer that before placing their orders, one of the three men asked if they could charge the bill, and were denied.
The men were about to leave when Seo approached them and demanded they pay for their meal. They then argued with him, and according to Seo, were going to fight their way out but were stopped after another man assisted Seo in preventing them from leaving the premises.
The report also indicated that one of the suspects threw a fork at a customer who was seated on another table.
Also, another responding officer questioned the suspects if they would cooperate and pay for the service, however, the three refused and began to argue with the officer and the owner as well.
