A trilogy of lies

“To call the president a liar, that is not good. But it happens to be the truth.”
—U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, the first Asian-American woman to serve in the Senate, the first U.S. senator born in Japan, and the first U.S. senator with a Buddhist background.

Living a Lie You Gotta Wonder Why
In grand jury testament it always shows
its all there on paper in black and white
much more the Special Counselor knows
who said what, who was wrong, who was right
and when the judge and jury make a reply
and the judge pounds the gavel, metal or wood
when those being questioned come up with a lie
when it is then uncovered and it did no good
tell the truth to the questioners with your reply
tell them who ask further all your entangles
tell them all your moneyed wily wrangles
tell them the truth because they will catch your lie
tell these people the names of those who were bought
those power hungry ambitious ones who all got caught .

Tweet No More Your Fountain of Lies
“…fear not to touch the best; the truth shall be thy warrant. Go, since I needs must die and give the world a lie.”
—Sir Walter Raleigh (1552-1618)

Tweet no more your fountain of lies
why do you feel the need to tweet so fast
the country is shocked in cyber surprise
more tweets coming out many just passed
the lying media’s watchful phones with eyes
cover all your day to day twit and tweetings
frivolous complaints about cabinet meetings
and how the FBI follows you like true spies
day and night egregiously equivocating
todays gather of blather staff tweets regrets
your fleet of lawyers all busy explicating
responses with denials its as good as it gets
try stopping at least for a few days or more
take a break from your Sisyphean chore.

The Leader Lied and Was Later Tried
“… told such dreadful lies, it made one gasp and stretch one’s eyes.”
—Hilaire Belloc (1870 – 1953)

Trumpty Dumpty told so many lies
“it made one gasp and stretch one’s eyes”
from red state base to disgruntled youth
all looked in vain to hear the truth.

Even his so called, ‘lying media’ looked in vain
for some sort of veracity in all his many lies
some tweets, some speech that might explain
irrational thought and all his outright denies.

He expressed regrets appointing the top lawyer
since AG Sessions quit the case with recusal
Trumpty wanted tricks ala Huck Finn & Tom Sawyer
getting none he resorted to mass media abusal

There was lying about this, lying about that
lying from house mouse to cat and tit for tat.
