You’ll have to wait until next week to find out what the U.S. military big brass (admirals and generals) have to say about Amelia Earhart being on Saipan. Please tune in then. Meanwhile here is some environmental grist for the mill or the grape stomping tub.

Global smarming

Global cooling was all the rage in the ’70s. Stand by for the next ice age if man keeps on fooling around improving his lot in life by controlling nature. Oops, okay, maybe it is global warming that will wipe us all out. Just turn your life over to the globalist elites and they will call on their climate gods to protect us all from the impending wrath. Okay, okay, so we were wrong again. Looks like we better call it “climate change.” That way no matter what happens we can claim we were right. Well, one thing is for certain—the weather and the climate will change. It has been evolving and cyclically changing for the best part of the 4 billion years this mudball has been spinning around the star we call sol…but we humans didn’t do it.

It is hard to imagine a group less likely to accurately prognosticate the future. So-called climate specialists can’t predict the weather a week away but insist they have a “model” which predicts dire consequences hundreds of years away with unfailing accuracy.

They forget to mention that the sun actually drives the weather on this planet, not artificially measured carbon dioxide levels. The ice core evidence clearly points out that CO2 levels increase after a warming episode, not before as the man-made weather alarmists would have you believe.

The latest bit of tomfoolery from the global warming crowd is that we are about to be inundated by an imminent sea level rise. I’m a relative newcomer to these parts but have been going to low-lying areas like Managaha and the various beaches around Saipan for 25 years or so and don’t see the high mean tide mark a millimeter higher now than it was then. Do you? Like the glaciers that were supposed to be melting in Glacier National Park but aren’t, the sea level rise bugaboo is the same kind of scare tactic used repeatedly by the folks who would like to rule your life via a phony carbon trading scheme which they just happen to be in charge of.

Why would they bother to lie? The researchers lie (and many have already been caught with their thumbs on the scientific evidence scales) because big money grants come to those who espouse the “politically correct” climate narrative and do not go to those who don’t. Grants are the lifeblood of academia where earning money to pay for their research would tiresomely get in the way of their scholarly myopia. Who supplies the grant money? The same elites who want to drive the man-caused weather narrative. Their game is to get enough of the easily-led to buy into their scheme to force lifestyle controls on the world’s population that just happen to enrich themselves and their cronies at the expense of the general population—all in the name of saving the earth and all of us from extinction. “Trust me, I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.” Follow the money trail.

It’s a scam as old as the first caveman to use a club on his neighbors to get them to do his bidding. I suggest you listen very carefully the next time some “news story” gets around to telling you how the weather is going to change and we are all going to die because it’s your fault that the sky is falling. It’s as phony as a three-dollar bill. There is a mountain of climate evidence out there. So far no one has a monopoly on understanding the incredibly complex, bllions of years old systems that control it. Climate “scientists” have only been keeping records for the last 150 years or so and are absolutely clueless as to which direction the climate is heading now or in the future.

As for me, I hope it continues to get warmer, as it has done since we started coming out of the last ice age about 12,000 years ago. I’m a tropical kind of guy and don’t want to be caught wearing a parka. Trouble is, neither I nor any of the politicians or global government types who claim otherwise can do a darned thing about it one way or the other.
Thanks for reading Sour Grapes !

The earth’s history over the past several million years is that for every 100,000 years, we go through a dramatic climatic cycle where we get 90,000 years of ice age and 10,000 years of a warm period. I think people today just have the expectation that we deserve a perfectly benign climate forever.

Remember in 1973 the same science chatter said that the coming Ice Age is going to occur, we’re going to lose millions of people. And the politicians knew how to solve it, they just didn’t have the courage to solve it; they were going to put coal dust on the Arctic.
