The 9th Annual Tournament of Champions will hold its Calcutta Night at AJ’s, the evening before the two-day golf competition starts, on July 30.

All players with a handicap of 0-5 are eligible to participate in the Calcutta Night provided they register and play on the Championship Flight of the ToC.

Players who previously played in the Seniors or Super Seniors Flight will have to register in the Championship Flight in order to be allowed to participate.

The charity event, which will be held in the former Jonny’s Beach Club, will be from 6pm to 9pm.

According to organizers, 25 percent of proceeds collected from the Calcutta Night will remain with the ToC. Of the remaining pool, 50 percent will go to the first place bid winner, 30 percent to the second place bid winner, and 20 percent to the third place bid winner.

Organizers also said that players don’t need to be present at the Calcutta Night if they are not going to bid. But if they do, then they do have to be in attendance.

Only those Championship Flight players who have submitted paid entry forms by July 30 will be considered eligible to be bid on during Calcutta Night.

Every Championship Flight entry is eligible to win Calcutta proceeds. If a player does not receive a bid, that player is still eligible to win.

Organizers also said that Calcutta scores will be calculated as net scores and will be scored outside of the regular ToC event. ToC scores will be calculated on gross scores, while Calcutta scores will be calculated based on net scores. The minimum bid for any eligible player will be $100.

The 9th Annual Tournament of Champions will be held the following day, July 31, and August 1 at the Lao Lao Bay golf resort.

Organizers are offering discounted entry fees. The final day to qualify for the $175 discounted fee is Friday, July 23. After that, the cost goes up to $200.

Those interested can pick up registration forms at Las Vegas Discount Golf, Dan Dan Driving Range, the DFS Galleria, any of the Shell gas stations, or at any of the local golf courses. Completed forms should be dropped off on the second floor of the DFS Galleria at the security/administration office.
