Liberation Day came and went but the 2004 Liberation Festival in Garapan continues to provide people with fun-filled rides, games, live entertainment, and a variety of food for all.

According to executive committee chair Victorino Cepeda, festival activities continue every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until August 6.

On hand to entertain tonight are the W & V group, Nani Kai Ahe group, local music artist Maggie Naputi, and Saipan’s rock and rollers Split Attitude.

The festival, which kicked off June 4, was originally scheduled to conclude July 6 but organizers decided to extend the conclusion date for another month.

Operations at the grounds, located at the Garapan Fishing Base across Kristo Rai Church, were temporarily halted for five days after Typhoon Tingting’s damaging winds knocked off electricity to the area and tore apart several booths. Organizers and crews, however, managed to resume activities in time for the crowning of 2004 Liberation Queen Leiana K. Ogumoro and her royal court.
