Misguided minds?

I have a relative who now lives on Saipan and who sent me the article titled “Economics of Japan, and US Before and During WWII” from Saturday’s Tribune. My comments to the author, William H. Stewart, are as follows:

My relative has shown me around Saipan, visiting the wartime sites there: memorials, gun emplacements, Suicide Cliff, etc. I have seen the various memorials and war sites in northern France as well.

Your article points out how the economic situations were altered by the decisions of “misguided minds” and indeed we wonder what the world today would be if those decisions had been more constructive.

I congratulate you on the compilation and analysis of the data you have collected.

By the way, why are we now in Afghanistan and Iraq? Misguided minds?
