Mobil donates $2.5K for Rota educ confab
Mobil Oil of Micronesia donated $2,500 to be used for the coordination of the 21st Annual Pacific Educational Conference on Rota from July 13-16, 2004.
The Public School System’s Education Commissioner, Rita H. Inos, who is also co-chair of the 21st Annual PEC Conference, expressed her gratitude for Mobil Oil of Micronesia’s generous donation.
“Mobil Oil continues to support the region’s educational development through their unselfish contributions,” Inos said. “Mobil’s gesture reaffirmed its corporate commitment to education and the community in the CNMI.”
This year’s conference is being hosted by the CNMI Public School System and co-hosted by the Municipality of Rota, and Pacific Resources for Education and Learning. The PEC is one of the largest educational conferences in the Western Pacific and is know as the conference by Pacific educators for Pacific educators. PEC provides intensive professional development for education professionals. Since it inception in 1984, PEC has hosted more that than 10,000 educators. Attended by Pacific teachers, administrators, parents, and community members, this year’s conference is expected to attract approximately one thousand participants.
