The 8th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council has adopted a resolution extending its appreciation to Takahisa Oguma for his exemplary services and contribution to the development and growth of the CNMI and its people.

Oguma was the general manager of SC Corporation Micronesia from May 1, 1976-May 1,1978 and president of Saipan Lau Lau Development, which does business as Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort, from April 1,1998-April 13, 2004. He recently retired as president of the Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort.

It was under the leadership of Oguma that the Nauru Building and the Saipan Grand Hotel extension projects were completed, contributing millions of dollars into the local economy.

“As president of Saipan Lau Lau Development dba Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort, Mr. Takahisa Oguma was instrumental in developing and implementing promotional activities that attracted Japanese tourist, local residents and visitors to enjoy the magnificent view and tropical climate of Saipan while playing golf at Saipan Lao Lao Golf Resort,” part of the resolution reads.

The resolution also said that throughout the many years that Oguma has rendered his expertise to the development and growth of the CNMI and its people, the members of the Municipal Council and the people of the CNMI are extremely gratified to recognize, congratulate and commend him for his leadership, contributions and for his helpful and friendly relationship with the people of the CNMI.

“The members of the municipal council and the people of the CNMI want Mr. Takahisa Oguma to know that he is always welcome in the CNMI,” it added.

The resolution was certified by chairman Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero and vice chairman David A. Indalecio and attested by secretary Antonia M. Tudela.
