Dead woman found in motel
A 34-year-old woman was found dead at a motel behind the San Jose Church last Thursday afternoon.
The Department of Public Safety received a call at 1:04pm asking authorities to check on an individual who was found unresponsive in one of the rooms of the San Jose Motel.
Police report indicated that police and medics responded to the scene and found the victim, whose name was not disclosed pending notification of kin, in room No. 18.
The victim was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Leon Hart.
An autopsy has been recommended to determine the cause of death.
Investigation showed that the victim was last seen by tenants of the establishment between 5:30am and 6am on the date she was found dead. The report quoted tenants as saying that the victim seemed fine.
Later in the afternoon, an employee went to check on the victim in her room and received no response from her. The employee managed to open the door and discovered the victim in bed and unresponsive. The report also showed that the victim had a history of illness and had been under medication.
DPS public information officer Thomas A. Blas Jr. said investigation is still ongoing and foul play has not been ruled out.
