The EUCON International School pointed out an error yesterday in a press release that came out about the recent Mathcounts competition in Washington D.C.

The school’s president, Christian Wei, said that student Cheol Min Shin, who was identified as being from the Marianas Baptist Academy, is actually their school’s student.

“The author said, ‘At the National Competition, Cheol Min Shin of Marianas Baptist Academy finished the highest of all the CNMI ‘Mathletes.’ which is incorrect. This is because Cheol Min Shin is not with ‘Marianas Baptist Academy.’ He is presently an 8th grade student of EUCON International School,” said Wei.

The story was a press release from Mathcounts organizers.
