Buff bodies and sexy babes will once again compete against one another as the 2nd Annual Asahi Co-ed Fours Beach Volleyball League gets underway starting April 30 at the Pacific Islands Club.

Ferocious spikes, defensive blocks and gallant saves will likely be the order of the day as still an undetermined number of teams will duke it out during the eight-week long tournament.

“The number of participating teams will really depend on the final tally of sign-ups for the event,” said PIC sports and recreation director Jon Cramer.

Teams can have as much as seven players in their line-up but no more than four, with a minimum of one female, can be on the court at the same time, Cramer reiterated.

Players will be farmed out in a draft to be conducted during the banquet on April 30. “This will give the league a more balanced and fair competition,” he said.

Matches will be held twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm to 10pm. Each match will be made up of three games and will be a race to 11 points.

Cramer also reminded that players should be present or at least signed or paid the $20 entry fee prior to the event.

The $20 entry fee would entitle players to a $10 waterpark pass during the season, a league T-shirt, invitation to the draft banquet and a discount on all Meitetsu products that include Asahi, Pocari Sweat and Calpico Water at anytime while the league is in progress.
