CK riot yields 4 arrests

Four individuals found brawling outside a Chalan Kanoa night club were arrested by police for rioting over the weekend.

The incident which happened at the parking area of the Moon Night Club involved four foreign nationals who refused to calm down despite police intervention.

A patrol officer had to use his police-commissioned maze in order to contain the belligerent crowd.

Arrested based on rioting charges were Alhussein Khlalafismail, Ugghakumbura Pitiyagadafa, Swarnasisr Elawlas and Kuhrathne Rankoth.

Juveniles burglarize Joeten Office

Authorities arrested Saturday night two juveniles caught hiding at the rooftop of the Joeten Enterprises based on burglary complaints.

The pair of 12-year-old boys allegedly forced their way into the company’s second floor accounting office at around 10pm.

A Joeten Ent. manager called for police assistance when he reportedly heard the alarm of the Susupe office go off.

At the scene, police officers recovered hand gloves on the stairway of the second floor, which apparently led to the discovery of the young suspects.

No items were reported missing as a result of the break-in.

Meanwhile, the juveniles were transported to the Criminal Bureau of Investigation after admitting to the charges.

They were later released to the custody of the Division of Youth Services.
