ICBL playoffs begin tomorrow

The playoffs of the 2001 Inter-Commercial Basketball League gets underway tomorrow with a double header featuring Hi-Five going up against Kagman Cougars in the first game and Diamond Auto Care ranged against Verizon in the second game.

The ICBL playoffs will be a double elimination affair with the top two teams after eight games, facing each other in the championship.

The APC Brothers emerges as the pennant champion in the elimination round with a win-loss card of 7-2. Diamond Auto Care and Verizon shared second and third spots with six wins and three losses apiece.

Hi-Five occupies fifth place, half a game behind third and fourth spots, with six wins to its credit after 10 games. The Kagman Cougars is mired in the cellar with a lone win in nine matches.

The last game of the elimination round played a week ago last Tuesday saw Verizon defeat the hapless Kagman Cougars 96-76. (MR)
