A heated argument between two men escalated into a fist fight, leaving one injured early Tuesday.

The victim was rushed to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment after sustaining a stab wound on the stomach, police said.

Authorities arrested the suspect, Danilo T. Mangohig, 34, who admitted to having accidentally stabbed his son-in-law while they were caught in a quarrel inside their Aquino apartment in Central Garapan.

Police records show that the men were pushing and wrestling each other when somehow, the pair of scissors which Mr. Mangohig held ended up puncturing the victim’s stomach, witnesses told police.

The suspect was reportedly at the kitchen area cutting up some sponges when the fight happened.

Mr. Mangohig was then taken under police custody for assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace charges. (MM)
