Spreading luck to casino players on St. Patrick’s Day, the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino gave away an estimated $13,000 cash to winners of the much awaited poker tournament Saturday night.

Casino General Manager Ciaran Carruthers said 42 poker players from Saipan, Guam and Tinian were invited to participate in the two-night Seven-Card Stud Poker Championship which kicked off Friday night.

Frank Acfalle won the $10,000 grand prize and a trophy followed by John Bargfrede who received $2,000. The five other semi-finalists were given $200 each and free accommodations to the Tinian Dynasty.

During the St. Patrick’s Weekend Party, close to 1,000 guests and casino players showed up at the Tinian Dynasty to join the first major poker tournament sponsored by Budweiser.

Mr. Carruthers disclosed that on July 4, Tinian Dynasty will host another poker tournament where an estimated $30,000 cash prize will be at stake and number of participants will be increased to 80 individuals.

On Saturday night, Tinian Dynasty also invited Guam-based Larry Franquez Jazz Ensemble who performed for one night at the Jackpot Lounge. The group played jazz ballads, swing, up-tempo, blues, Latin songs and numbers for audiences’ listening and dancing pleasure.

The group has consistently earned prestigious awards in New York, Boston, New Orleans, San Diego and Toronto, according to Dynasty Communication Manager Eva Wong. (EGA)
