Ineffective.

This is how former Gov. Froilan Tenorio tagged the $12 million liability damages sanctioned against him by the Supreme Court since no major changes on his political career has taken place.

Yesterday, Mr. Tenorio disclosed plans to officially announce his candidacy next week sans a running mate. He said the Reform Party is carefully considering his possible running mate.

Mr. Tenorio said massive political campaign against him is employed by other political parties, spreading rumors of him backing out from the gubernatorial race.

“The court case does not affect my decision to run for governor, I feel that I did not do anything wrong, and it’s up for the people to decide,” the former governor said.

His supporters were told by other gubernatorial candidates that he won’t run in the upcoming November general election. But Mr. Tenorio assured his political allies, supporters and other gubernatorial candidates that official announcement will be made by next week.

“I feel that I will win this election, and I have to get a running mate who have different supporters and who can win the next gubernatorial election,” said Mr. Tenorio.

As early as now, the former governor is eyeing a running mate who can proceed with government platforms and run for the highest seat to ensure continuity.

Despite the recently ruling of the Supreme Court junking his appeal for reconsideration on June 1997 case, Mr. Tenorio is optimistic that people will rally behind him and support him on his candidacy. (EGA)
